web developer

The web developer (aka programmer-analyst, developer, back office or back-end developer) is a computer responsible for carrying out all the features of a website. This is a technician or engineer, able to analyze customer needs to design custom sites or adapt existing technical solutions.
In a complementary manner, the web developer is involved in: training of the client when it receives its website, technical support throughout the life of the website, and corrections of problems put together by the customer.



Missions

During the design phase, the web developer analyzes the project entrusted to him, according to user needs, documented in a technical specification. It examines the stages of operation of the site, and then determines a technical solution. In addition, it performs the instructions for installation and guides for users. In the absence of computer technician, it can also provide itself the technical monitoring of the site.



Area and scope of intervention

The web developer is involved in all the technical features of the site. Under the guidance of a technical project manager, he worked on various projects ever, in very different industries: telecommunications, transport, banking, insurance, automotive, commercial or retail. Meanwhile, life is shortened sites. Faced with multiple changes, the developer must constantly adapt.


Skills
The web developer knows the techniques and methods of design and development of website: design techniques, modeling and architecture applications, web programming languages, standards and security procedures, ... It also has a broad general computer and must be versatile, self-respect of deadlines, able to work as a team and integrate new concepts and programming languages.

Training
Training required for this position are the DUT or BTS computer data processing, optional application developer (Bac +2), licenses pro in programming, engineering schools in IT and telecoms, masters in computer science ( eg master pro science and information technology and communication, computer entry, specialty modeling, optimization and system design). Although this position is open to young graduates, an experience of 1 to 5 years is generally required.
